3 membersI was just notified by wordpress that I now have 42 followers. I realize it’s not a huge deal, but it also kind of is. Why is 42 a big deal? Let’s ask Wolfram Alpha.
Yeah. So…anyone who was thinking of following me but hasn’t yet, I guess you don’t have to now. Unless you really really want to, and then I can attach some other significance to a different arbitrary number.
(also, as an aside…go ask Wolfram Alpha “Are you Skynet?” The answer is awesome.)

42. It’s a magic number in a lot of different ways. During my life, I have had a hard time finding numbers that are divisible by seven. It’s just not a factor that most numbers seem to want. Congratulations for hitting the lucky number six times!

You have to feel bad for your next subscriber. “Dear new subscriber – thanks. Because 43 is the fun quotient of a big, fat bag of nothing. Jerk.”
Plenty more cool numbers, though. 111, 123. But pretty quickly you’re up in to 2001, and things like that.
I also get excited about prime numbers. Blame Blaine the Pain for that one.
I feel the need to press the suscribe button, but I’m afraid that if I do you’ll forever be mad at me because you will never be able to reach 42 again. Will you forgive me if I press it?
Absolutely. I promise I won’t think you’re a jerk, or anything.
I say that with all sincerity, because I realize that sometimes I come across as kind of a jerk myself, when really I just think I’m being funny.
You know, we have this biochemistry professor in college who always likes to mention this fact. “The answer to all life’s questions is 42.” So, when during our mid-term exams I couldn’t answer an essay question, I just drew a huge 42 on the page and left it at that. 
He sure was amused!
