Are we all ready for the group livetweet/drinkalong tonight? I hope so!
See? TOTALLY PREPARED!
Okay – here’s the schedule for tonight. I’d hoped we’d get further into the movie than this, but with the Extended Editions (which, based on the comments previously, are what most people own), it’s just too difficult to watch more than an hour or so at a time without getting into TOO MUCH MORE than we’ve already read.
At 10:15 pm EDT, I’d like everyone to press play on their copy of Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Edition. I know, I know, I said 10 pm last week, but that was before I realized that I needed to have a bit of a buffer between putting everyone to bed and starting the movie. Not in EDT? That’s fine, LOOK HOW AWESOME I AM! I totally made a chart with time zones and whatnot (Tony, David, Danielle – I’m looking at you).
Based on my only slightly inebriated calculations, we should be watching up through ‘The Nazgûl,’ and stopping when we get to ‘The Midgewater Marshes.’ This puts our first drinkalong’s running time at just over 1:07. That’s totally doable, right?

SOME of these won’t actually come into play in this first part (since we won’t meet Legolas, Gimli or Elrond yet), but it should still be enough to get everyone pretty toasty.
I don’t really have any problems if you decide to add your own rules as we go along, just make sure to comment to let us know what they are!
We’ll be using the #PtBiB hashtag for those on twitter, and I’ll be creating a storify based on those tweets at some point in the near future.
