Puttin’ the Blog in Balrog – The Final Drinkalong

Anyone else feel the need to pour a 40 on the ground for the end of our Friday night drinkalongs?  No?  Oh.

Well.  Last drinkalong!  Second disc of RotK!  Um…yeah.

Heather, I’ll add in the new/extended scenes for you later, I can’t find the booklet right now.  >.<

If you can’t read this, you can click it!

Also, there was some talk on twitter of sadness that the drinkalongs will be ending.  I was wondering if you guys would be interested in making the group watches a once a month thing?  I can put up polls to see what everyone would be interested in watching together and drinking would be optional.

Unless you want to make rules for the movies or whatever.  Anyway, leave your thoughts in the comments.

    I have enjoyed observing the drinking game from afar. That guy in the picture looks like an aged Highlander.

    I’m down for more drinkalongs. We could maybe focus on book-to-film adaptations, since that gives us plenty of ranty room to play?

    Any Monty Python

    Snatch
    24 Hour Party People
    Tristram Shandy: A Cock & Bull Story
    Tom Jones (esp the A&E version with Brian Blessed et al)

    Just to throw some titles out there.

      Wait, the only Wes Anderson film based on a book is Fantastic Mr Fox, right?

      Never mind, I see that the list doesn’t follow the whole book-to-film thing. Dur.

      Also, I’m saying Hell. No. to Minority Report. Other than Paycheck that tops my list of worst ever PKD adaptations and I don’t really feel like putting myself through that again.

    I would also enjoy a monthly twit-drinking contest….er…thing. I think Kate (maybe?) once upon a time recommended the Narnia movies. That could be fun.

      I no longer own the Narnia movies because I hated the first one and didn’t bother with the rest.

    I’m actually really, really sad that our LotR journey is ending tonight. I’ve had a lot of fun with the reading and watching. I’m writing a blog post about it, so I don’t want to say everything here.

    I don’t know about everyone else, but I would LOVE some kind of watch-along every month. That would be awesome.

    Oh! And don’t bother with the extended/new scenes list. It’s too hard for me to keep track of, anyway. I did pretty well last week watching people’s tweets to know where we were. Hahaha!

    Yes PLEASE more drinkalongs! I had to miss so many and it made me all of the sadface.

    I could suggest movies, but it would be scurrilous because I don’t actually care in the slightest as long as it’s ripe for loving mockery. Or just mockery.
