You Should’ve Been There

by sj

No, seriously.

Our Monty Python and the Holy Grail groupwatch/drinkalong was GREAT FUN and there were only FOUR of us!

Thanks to Tony, Kate and Sue, who made this Friday night an awesome time.

Seriously, you guys rock.

The storify of our AWESOME FUN TIME can be found here.

If you’d like to join in the next time, leave a movie you’d like us to all watch and drink to in the comments.  I’ll put up a poll in a few weeks, but I’m thinking the next drinkalong will take place on October 26.

Start time is negotiable.

  1. I was teaching a novel once and was trying to draw them toward a metaphor in the book. It involved fire and me asking, “And what else burns?” Someone said, “Witches!”

    I gave her extra credit.

    • That’s as it should be.

Only slightly related is when we were studying Romeo and Juliet in Freshman English, and our teacher asked us why we thought Paris was trying to break into Juliet’s tomb. I said under my breath “because he was a necrophiliac…” and my teacher had to sit down he was laughing so hard. I got extra credit for that, too.

  2. I think Troll 2 was mentioned once. A Grindhouse or Quentin Tarantino night might be fun.

  3. I think there should be a kind of logic to these, and that our next drinkalong should be a Terry Gilliam film. Brazil? Twelve Monkeys? The Fisher King? Doctor Parnassus?

  4. Thanks again for organizing this. I had a great time and so did my man (even tho he refuses to twitter with us). At least a third of the snarky comments are his.

  5. I’m so, so sorry I missed this. :( I just couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. Sigh. I’m glad you guys had a good time!

  6. Wood!
Glad that it went well, sounded like fun!

  7. I’m sorry I missed it! And I’m sorry it has taken two days to catch up on your post!

  8. Oooh, can we do a Harry Potter movie one of these months? As for October, hmm…since it was just Stephen King week over at IB, why not a Stephen King movie?

Comments make us happy. Leave lots of comments. Just don't be a snapebag or you'll face the wrath of dodisharkicorn and your comment will be deleted. Or we'll make fun of you. Or both. Probably both.
