I could have gone several different ways with this. I was planning on featuring Nicole’s books (first one here), but didn’t appreciate the UNPOPULAR connotation. So. Go, click that, feed your Kindle with the fabulousness that is Grace Murphy, but also find the book I’m featuring below.
An Unpopular Book I Think Should be a Bestseller

Man, I wish I had a copy of this book with this cover. Holy schnikes, that is perfect. Perfect.
Heh, who’s surprised I’m picking a book by my favourite author? NO ONE!
Look, this book is probably one of PKD’s lesser-known, lesser-liked novels, but it’s been one of my favourites since the first time I read it shortly after high school.
Much like the majority of his work, one spends the first 50-100 pages saying “Wait, what?” but then there’s an almost audible click, and everything falls into place.
One of the better pieces of dystopian fiction I’ve ever read (and, um…I’ve read a lot), I really wish more people would give this book a chance and get past that “I have zero idea WTS is going on” period before they give up.
I had a far too long summary written, but it gave away too many plot points and I don’t want to do that here. I don’t like to spoil things I want you all to read, remember? I’ll just stick with the following:
Time travel, an oppressive government, robots and war. What’s not to like?
I hate to use phrases like “even more pertinent today than when it was written,” but I kind of have to. Give it a chance, and you’ll see. Trust me. GO READ PKD, PEOPLE!
