“The great grey beast February had eaten Harvey Swick Alive”

I feel kind of guilty using that quote (one of my favourite opening lines ever, btw) today, when this post isn’t even ABOUT The Thief of Alwaysbut it totally fits, so…sorry Clive Barker.  I do plan on re-reading it this year, just not this month.  Because I have OTHER PLANS for this month.

february

That’s right, I’ve decided to catch up on the numerous zombie books I’ve been holding onto for no real good reason, so February is now ZOMBRUARY.

reading_challengeAt last count, I had 20 unread zombie novels (I’m not counting the comics yet, cos there are more of those than I care to admit), and if I can keep up the pace I had in January, I should be able to get through all of them, along with my re-reads of The Shining, Night Shift and The Stand with Heather and my re-reads of Fforde with the Heathers (that makes ME Veronica! HAHA!).

So, anyway, I plan on MOSTLY reading zombie lit this month.  I guess I’ll find out if it’s possible for me to get tired of zombies, since I always said it would never happen.

I realize I’m way behind on reviewing things I’ve actually read (and/or even just updating my YoRWtFIW page), but I’ll get around to it at some point.

Or not.  At this point I really don’t know.  I guess we’ll find out together, won’t we?

What are your reading plans for this month?

  1. Reading a horror anthology and a novel I need to write reviews for. And reading all the other things. No specific plans outside of that.

  2. Cold Days was just delivered to the library for my reading pleasure. I will read that one, and at least a couple of Jasper Fforde’s. I am hoping to wrap up my own novel by Valentine’s Day, which will free me up quite a bit.

  3. I plan on trying to catch up on my Goodreads first reads wins. Last year I won four books. This year, I won five. One was a self-published thing by a dad and his teenage daughter that was horrible. But I feel bad writing how terrible it was in the review.

  4. Well I have been catching up with zombie Photoshop pictures, so…

  5. Re-reading the Sherlock Holmes books. And working, mostly. Wish I had more time for reading this month.

  6. I have some Stephen Lawhead reads lined up for this month (he reads like a Tolkien/Lewis type) and I’m thinking I’d like to get through all of Baum’s Oz books too! Sounds like you have a busy reading month ahead. Keep us posted!

  7. I’m just a reading fool so far and I’m looooving it. More of the same for February, yahoo

  8. You already know my reading plans. I’m reading all the stuff. <3

  9. I am very excited about Zombruary, because it means I get to read a ton of you-written zombie book reviews. And will be adding a million more books to my TBR list, most likely.

My plans for the month are to finish the remaining terrible one-acts I have to read for the theater and then to READ WHATEVER I WANT TO ZOMG. I am so excited. SO EXCITED.

  10. Clive Barkers Weaveworld is one of my favourite books ever.
